Integrated Planning Coordinator
Seqwater delivers the bulk treated water to the community of South East Queensland through effective management of key water management infrastructure. About your new position
Working within the Policy, Strategy, Research and Innovation Team in the Water Services Group, the role of Integrated Planning Coordinator located at the ICON building in Ipswich and has become available due to the incumbent taking maternity leave. The role will be offered until 30th August 2019 in line with expected return timeframes of the incumbent.
This role will report to the Team Leader of Asset Strategy and Innovation and will have a Senior Land Use Planner and Senior Planning Officer reporting to it. This role will be responsible for a number of areas related to land use planning and development approvals in our drinking water catchments. Some of the key activities include:
- Lead the policy and strategy development for Seqwater’s strategic land use planning issues.
- Develop and deliver planning approvals strategies.
- Be the key planning interface between Seqwater and project planning consultants, sub-consultants and government departments.
- Represent Seqwater and proactively participate in federal, state and local planning forums to achieve outcomes in support of Seqwater’s strategic plan.
- Provide specialist advice relating to land use planning regulations and related matters.
We are looking for someone who has extensive urban planning experience and an intimate knowledge of the relevant planning regulations and frameworks. Seqwater’s focus is on the drinking water catchment impact so you must be able to interpret the planning framework at the various governmental levels and apply this to our operational requirements when considering planning proposals.
In order to be effective in this role you will need to engage with numerous external government departments and you must therefore represent Seqwater in a very engaging and respectful manner. You should have experience in building relationships across a wide range of people and be able to provide key input into land use planning activities and policy decision making.
This role does require at least 8+ years of experience in a land use planning function and you will possess a relevant tertiary qualification such as Environmental Science or Urban and Regional Planning.

This position has been graded in accordance with Seqwater’s Certified Agreement as AO7 with a base salary of $108,637,.97 per annum and up to 12.75% superannuation if you join the default Q Super fund.
