About Your Opportunity

As Dam Engineer, IPCD, you will provide dam engineering advice and support on Dam Infrastructure Planning and Capital Delivery projects, to ensure that the engineering work undertaken by Seqwater Is technically sound, compliant with relevant requirements and ‘fit for purpose’, implementing appropriate technical management frameworks, tools, and protocols to improve consistency and effectiveness.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the Technical Lead in delivering engineering services in Preliminary and Detailed Business Case development as well as project implementation and delivery and provide technical advice and design input to dam upgrade projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide a risk-based approach strategy to mitigate the dam safety risk and plan for the required upgrade works across the dams and weirs portfolio and ensure compliance with industry best practice design and regulatory requirements.
  • Take ownership of and provide options for the resolution of core technical issues, using your technical, problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Understand and interpret the identified service need for each dam and weir upgrade project to develop the technical and design requirements to address the service need and any identified risks and opportunities for the project.
  • Translate the technical and design requirements to meet the service need into work breakdown structures and design scopes to allow the engagement of suitable design consultants to progress upgrade projects through Strategic Business Cases

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • A minimum of 8 years professional experience in water engineering projects with experience in dam design and construction.
  • Current active RPEQ registration in a discipline relevant to the position.


This position has a salary range of $128,257 - $140,504 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
