About Your Opportunity

As the Senior Project Engineer, you will provide authoritative engineering/technical assistance and support the successful delivery of projects (within the Dam Improvement Program) in accordance with the Infrastructure Planning and Capital Delivery (IPCD) processes and procedures. Working closely with the Project Manager and Project Team, this role will provide a significant contribution through the planning, design, procurement, pre-construction, construction and commissioning stages of significant projects ($500 million +), in terms of managing project, cost, environment, program, quality, risk, safety and scope. In this role, you will undertake, and assist in the management of various technical activities and inputs underpinning the project work.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist and support the Project Manager with engineering and technical activites during planning, procurement, construction and close out phases of signficant projects with values exceeding $500 million.
  • Assist and support the engagement and management of design consultants.
  • Coordiate, and support the Engineering Standards and Assurance team in the review and assessment of engineering and technical deliverables,to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to applicable codes, engineering standards, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
  • Assist and support the Design / Project Manager with administration of relevant contract/, includingreviewing and assessing contractor management plans, procedures, lot records, RFIs, ITPs, NCRs and testing to ensure compliance with project requirements.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. civil, mechancial) and a minimum of 10 years experience in areas of hydrology, dam or water engineering, yield assessment and flood assessment/management.
  • Hold an RPEQ, mandatory
  • Qualifications in construction / project management will be highly regarded.
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Construction Industry White Card.
  • Alignment with Seqwater values

This position has a salary range of $144,587 - $156,835 (dependant on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is a permanent fulltime role.
