As an Control Systems Technician, you’ll play a key role in supporting and maintaining Seqwater’s Telemetry and Control Systems across a diverse range of water infrastructure assets. From dams and treatment plants to pump stations and reservoirs, no two days are the same. You’ll work hands-on with SCADA and Process Control Systems, while also collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of Engineers, Coordinators, and Technical Officers.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where your technical skills will be valued and developed. You’ll be supported to grow professionally, including the opportunity to further your Advanced Diploma or undertake additional study with partial funding provided by Seqwater.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to Seqwater’s Values and Safety objectives.
• Deliver both reactive and preventative maintenance across a wide range of control systems.
• Participate in an on-call roster to respond to emergency requests outside of normal hours.
• Conduct independent investigations and compile technical reports.
• Develop and execute test documentation to verify plant operations.
• Manage system software, backups, and data storage to ensure system integrity.
• Escalate decisions with potential operational impacts appropriately.
• Receive and execute tasks from Senior and Principal Control Systems Engineers.
• Support the commissioning of new assets and upgrades.
• Engage in varied fieldwork across multiple sites, offering a mix of technical challenges.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

Essential

• Trade qualification in Electrical and/or Instrumentation.
• Practical experience in industrial or utilities environments supporting and maintaining flow, level, pressure, and analyser instruments.
• A current unrestricted ‘C’ class driver’s licence.
• A strong alignment with Seqwater’s values of Integrity, Respect, Care, and Courage.

Desirable

• An Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant field, or a combination of education and experience.
• White Construction Card.
• Familiarity with Seqwater’s control and automation systems.
• Solid understanding of control systems components and concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Siemens and Schneider PLC and SCADA platforms.

This position has a competitive salary package (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and this is a full-time permanent role.
