About Your Opportunity

Reporting to our Technical Director – Water Treatment, as Technical Lead – Water Treatment, you will guide the technical direction and governance of major water treatment projects across planning, delivery, and handover. You’ll implement robust frameworks and protocols to ensure consistency, drive continuous improvement, and align projects with strategic objectives. This role is pivotal in strengthening engineering capability and delivering sustainable, resilient, and future-ready water treatment solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership for complex, high-value water treatment projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance across all lifecycle stages.
  • Lead technical governance and assurance, including interaction with Technical Review Panels and coordination of multidisciplinary teams and service providers.
  • Manage technical risk within approved tolerances and deliver robust, sustainable engineering outcomes aligned with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Offer expert engineering advice on planning, design, construction, commissioning, and operations, while supporting standards development and continuous improvement.
  • Engage stakeholders and guide strategic decisions, integrating diverse interests, mitigating risks, and ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary Engineering Chemical/Process degree, RPEQ eligibility, and unrestricted Class C driver’s licence.
  • Proven experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams and delivering complex projects.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment design, major infrastructure projects, and regulatory compliance.
  • Skilled in planning, budgeting, value engineering, and applying project and quality management principles.
  • Ability to present complex technical solutions and collaborate effectively with senior leaders and external partners.

 

This position will be offered as an individual TFR package with an attractive salary and is a permanent full time role.
