About Your Opportunity
As the Planning Support Officer, you will serve as the first point of contact for clients and stakeholders, supporting the Land Use Planning unit. In this role, you will manage information systems, assist with development assessments, and provide communication and administrative support to ensure the unit runs efficiently.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate and maintain information systems and databases for development assessment and strategic planning workloads, in line with compliance requirements.
- Serve as the first point of contact for Land Use Planning communications and task receipt.
- Support planners with daily administrative workloads around development application assessments and strategic planning reviews.
- Provide general administrative assistance for reports, briefing documents and correspondence with internal teams, Local and State government agencies and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to improving and implementing internal procedures, guidelines and tools relating to workload management and records keeping.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Experience in servicing the administrative needs of a planning department (ideally local council) with a high-level understanding of Queensland’s planning processes and application workflows.
- Qualifications in administration, business management or equivalent experience.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to triage tasks effectively.
- Well-developed communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders and facilitate collaborative solutions.
- Ability to proactively identify and carry out tasks with accuracy and precision.
- High level knowledge of the Queensland Planning Framework (desirable), particularly the Planning Act 2016.
This role will be offered on a part-time basis (0.8 FTE) for a fixed term period of 2 years. The salary for this position ranges from $79,536.21 - $90,334.74, plus 12.75% superannuation.
