About Your Opportunity
Step into an exciting role as Senior Project Engineer, where you’ll be at the forefront of delivering transformative projects within the Water Security Investment Program. You’ll be the trusted technical authority, driving innovation and hands-on solutions across all stages of project delivery—planning, design, procurement, and right through to construction and commissioning. Working side-by-side with the Project Manager and dynamic project team, you’ll play a pivotal part in shaping projects valued at over $500 million, managing every facet from cost and program to environment, quality, safety, risk, and scope.
Your day-to-day will see you tackling diverse technical challenges and contributing specialist expertise that underpins the successful realisation of major infrastructure. Key responsibilities:
- Assist and support the Project Manager with engineering and technical activites during planning, procurement, construction and close out phases of signficant projects with values exceeding $500 million.
- Assist and support the engagement and management of design consultants.
- Coordiate, and support the Engineering Standards and Assurance team in the review and assessment of engineering and technical deliverables,to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Monitor and ensure compliance to applicable codes, engineering standards, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
- Assist and support the Design / Project Manager with administration of relevant contract/, includingreviewing and assessing contractor management plans, procedures, lot records, RFIs, ITPs, NCRs and testing to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Inspection and monitoring of contractor’s work on site to ensure that; documentation, quality and workmanship are compliant with project requirements, and conduct regular audit activities to confirm
- Contribute to regular assessment of environmental, quality, safety risks and implementation of associated controls/mitigations.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g. civil, mechancial) and a minimum of 10 years experience in areas of hydrology, dam or water engineering, yield assessment and flood assessment/management.
- Hold an RPEQ, mandatory
- Qualifications in construction / project management will be highly regarded.
- Class C Driver’s Licence
This position will be offered contract with an attractive salary and 12.75% superannuation.
