About Seqwater

Seqwater is the Queensland Government Bulk Water Supply Authority, responsible for delivering safe, secure and cost-effective bulk water supply for over 3 million people across Southeast Queensland.

Seqwater is one of the largest water businesses with the most geographically spread and diverse asset base of any capital city water authority. Our operations extend from the New South Wales border to the base of the Toowoomba ranges.

We commit to delivering a high standard of customer service aligned to our strategic vision. We value working collaboratively with our internal & external customers to improve service delivery.

About Your Opportunity

Reporting to our Team Leader Regulatory, you will lead a range of initiatives that contribute directly to Seqwater’s financial sustainability. You will lead specific parts of the delivery of successful outcomes in regulatory price reviews for both irrigation and bulk water prices to ensure that Seqwater maximises revenue recovery. You will also assist with negotiating new commercial opportunities for new and existing customers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate revenue recovery risk, develop regulatory strategies that mitigate key risks and improve Seqwater’s financial viability and meets customer needs.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies, government agencies and retail customers to negotiate pricing review parameters that address risks.
  • Work closely with key internal stakeholders to deliver regulatory proposals to the Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) for irrigation and bulk water pricing which reduce revenue recovery risk and ensure customer focused outcomes.
  • Lead the implementation of applicable QCA bulk and irrigation price review recommendations, including reports to the Board and Executive team.
  • Provide specialist regulatory advice to the business to ensure processes are in place to support the recovery of all costs (e.g., capital expenditure, operating expenditure, drought costs).

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in regulatory pricing.
  • Demonstrated commercial approach to service delivery from utility and natural monopoly infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated successful achievement in managing the delivery of internal governance arrangements to support customer centric decision making.
  • Proven experience of successfully navigating regulatory landscapes and implementing effective pricing strategies.
  • Experience in managing regulatory pricing proposals and achieving successful outcomes.

This position has a salary range of $113,473.64 - $123,457.70 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
