About Your Opportunity

Reporting to our Principal – Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW), you will be responsible for partnering with key stakeholders, leaders, and their teams across Seqwater, to develop a consistent and positive organisational HSW culture and support the implementation of Seqwater strategic initiatives. As a champion of continual improvement, innovation, and technology, alignment with Regional HSW Business Partners and the broader HSW Team underpins a consistent approach to support key stakeholders to:

  • improve safety and organisational culture,
  • influence processes, systems, and planning,
  • provide expert advice to effectively manage HSW risks,
  • address a broad range of complex current and future HSW priorities and challenges,
  • verify the HSW Management System is embedded and working effectively,
  • prepare and deliver appropriate HSW training through Face-to-Face sessions, team meetings and other communication methods

 

This role is responsible for:

  • Partnering, coaching, and influencing key stakeholders to identify requirements and effectively implement and maintain Seqwater’s safety management system ensuring consistency with Seqwater’s HSW risk profile.
  • Developing, implementing, and reviewing Work Health and Safety policies, procedures, management plans, guidelines, standard operating procedures, and safe work method statements across all areas, including Health and Wellbeing.
  • Acting as the first point of contact to provide advice and safety information, and supporting Leaders to actively promote a safe workplace culture and address specific issues.
  • Assisting in the development and leading the implementation of HSW and Enterprise programs, activities and provide support at either the group or team level, to achieve a result aligned with the HSW Strategy.

 

Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically deemed ineligible. Each application will be considered on its merits.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety or relevant experience
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment (desirable)
  • Formal training in Incident Investigation (e.g., ICAM, TapRoot or similar)
  • Lead Auditor in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
  • Unrestricted driver’s licence
  • Demonstrated experience in similar roles and working with contractors

 

This position has a salary range of $113,473.64 - $123,457.70 plus 12.75% superannuation and is based out of the Mt Crosby Water Treatment Plant.
