About Your Opportunity

Reporting to our Manager Environment, you will lead the delivery of environmental and planning advisory, governance and assurance services. Working with capital delivery teams across the business you will promote and facilitate leading practice in environmental management planning activities. You will lead and undertake a range of specialist, governance and assurance activities including consultation, communication, and coordination to ensure consistency of approach and application across the Seqwater capital delivery programs of work.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Through the delivery of targeted initiatives, instil throughout Seqwater an appreciation of environmental management and support change in relation to improving performance in environmental and planning services and performance across the project portfolio.
  • Lead and coordinate environmental activities in accordance with legislative obligations and support Seqwater to limit its impact upon the natural environment and protect key environment values.
  • Provide expert advice and support to project leaders, promoting and facilitating best practices in environmental management to ensure compliance with Seqwater's environmental obligations and foster a culture of stewardship.
  • Partner with the business to facilitate effective environmental risk management, enabling the appropriate risk management strategies to be developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed.
  • Coordinate and ensure organisational visibility of project environmental approval status and regulator engagement and drive alignment with Seqwater IMS requirements.
  • Provide governance, audit and assurance across the project portfolios with respect to environment obligations and compliance.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environment Management, Engineering or Planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Considerable experience in State and Commonwealth approval processes for major projects.
  • Experience in establishing and leading governance, compliance, and assurance activities.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple government regulators and external stakeholders.
  • Post graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline or specialist area (desirable).

 

This position will be offered as an individual TFR package with an attractive salary and is a permanent full time role.
