About Your Opportunity 

You will be responsible for managing the successful planning and execution of infrastructure upgrades, refurbishments and builds across water supply and treatment facilities. This role involves leading projects to enhance the performance, efficiency, and compliance of existing assets, including treatment plants, pipelines, and distribution systems. You will ensure asset improvement works are delivered safely, within scope, on time, and on budget, while coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders. 

Key responsibilities:  

  • Plan and deliver water infrastructure improvement projects through the application of sound project management approaches, in accordance with Seqwater policies and processes and key areas of project management body of knowledge (PMBOK) or similar, including responsibility for controls and governance, risk management and reporting. 

  • Coordinate with internal support and delivery teams, contractors, and consultants, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and regulatory requirements and successful outcomes. 

  • Manage contractor performance, ensuring adherence to project requirements, timelines, and budget, utilising project software and Seqwater project management systems and frameworks. 

  • Monitor and report on project progress and performance, ensuring the timely delivery of milestones and deliverables and that all work meets required technical specifications, quality standards and regulatory compliance. 

  • Contribute to detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation, ensuring upgrades meet current and future demand. 

About you 

To be successful in this role, you will possess: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Experience in project management of complex capital construction, maintenance and/ or refurbishment programs within the water, infrastructure, or similar sectors across the project lifecycle (including planning, execution and budget management). 

  • Demonstrated experience in the successful administration of various contracts in relation to capital works throughout the project lifecycle, including documentation, performance, approvals, budget and regulatory considerations. 

  • Experience managing projects in operational environments with minimal disruption to services 

This position has a salary range of $118,579 - $129,013 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
