About Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor Supply System, you will respond in emergency situations to optimise the SEQ Water Grid supply system to ensure continuity of supply and provide operational input and support to allow effective and efficient implementation of continuous improvements in the operation of the bulk water supply system.

This role is responsible for:

  • Monitor, operate  and control the supply of water across a large geographic region using the SCADA system within the Supply System Control Room in all shifts
  • Work within, apply supply system procedures, monitor and optimise the supply system to ensure water supply is maintained and customer standard of service are achieved
  • Monitor water supply levels and water quality across the network, escalating issues or anomalies where appropriate
  • First point of contact for monitoring, operating and controlling, and operating water supply network.
  • Responding to, and actioning  SCADA alarms in real time, in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitoring of isolation procedures while maintaining the efficient and effective control of the bulk water supply network

 

Hours and Locations 

This role will be part of team that works on a roster including weekends and public holidays and some oncall work dependant upon shift roster changes (shift allowances apply).

The location of this role can either be at Creek Street in Brisbane, or at our Icon office in Ipswich  

Please note: this role is part of a 24/7 shift operation and prior experience in shift work will be highly regarded.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Water Industry Operations Certificate IV or the ability to attain such within a specified timeframe or deemed equivalent experience.
  • Qualifications in a hydraulics related discipline will be well regarded.
  • Unrestricted Driver's Licence for a motor vehicle.
  • Sound and relevant experience in water pipeline operations and/or water supply operations will be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated understanding of water supply hydraulics.

 

This full-time permanent position has a salary range of $95,907 - $112,513 per annum plus 12.75% superannuation.

Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically deemed ineligible. Each application will be considered on its merits.
