About Your Opportunity

Reporting to our Team Leader Payroll Services, you will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll for all Seqwater employees. You will ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation, water industry standards, and internal policies and maintain detailed records, resolve payroll discrepancies, and provide exceptional service to staff on payroll-related inquiries.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process all Seqwater payrolls including any subsidiary and/or project groups, ensuring that payroll is prepared accurately, on time and in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions of employment and Seqwater policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with the People and Culture team in relation to the appointment, classification and resignation of staff.
  • Monitor and follow up outstanding timesheets weekly, including: start and finish times, hours worked, leave taken, movements in TOIL and line manager approval.
  • Produce fortnightly and monthly payroll deduction reports and prepare remittances by the due date for processing via Accounts.
  • Ensure payments to relevant Superannuation schemes are prepared accurately and conform to agreed timeframes. 
  • Provide payroll information by way of reports as requested by Line Managers and other employees as authorised.
  • Respond to payroll queries efficiently, professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

 

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:  

Essentials:

  • Secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar field.
  • Experience in critically examining, challenging and improving work processes and procedures.

 

Desirables:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a payroll-processing role from processing of timesheets to issuing Payment Summaries and performing year-end procedures.
  • Experience in professionally dealing with confidential information and ensuring security of sensitive data.

 

This position has a salary range of $76,846.58 - $87,279.94 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is a temporary opportunity until December 2025.
