About Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Coordinator Network Operations, you will lead a team of Network Engineers and Technical Officers to ensure the efficient operation of Seqwater’s treated bulk water transport system. Your focus will be on managing treated water supply and quality risks while supporting the delivery of safe, reliable drinking water. Working closely with regional Water Treatment Supply Operators, you will coordinate and oversee operations, provide technical and engineering advice, and contribute to continuous improvement across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the day-to-day operations of the bulk water transport system, ensuring compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver expert engineering advice to optimise system configuration and reduce operational risks.
  • Provide strategic planning and operational input to allow effective and efficient implementation of continuous improvements in the treated bulk water transport system.
  • Verify and provide feedback on designs operationally, propose possible improved alternatives/modifications and undertake operational planning for project work to assure continuity of supply and water quality.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of technical experts, driving a high performance, customer-focused culture.
  • Provide incident management support and participate in on-call roster.

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications (or equivalent) in Engineering
  • Qualification or the ability to obtain registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland.
  • Extensive experience in operational engineering within the bulk water supply sector, including practical application of water supply system modelling to support efficient and reliable operations.
  • High level knowledge of Australian Drinking Water Guidelines, the principles of HACCP, and Quality Assurance systems and procedures and ways to apply these principles in Seqwater.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across diverse professional groups, teams, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead and mentor a team of technical specialists (desirable)

 

This position has a salary starting at $160,917.98 plus 12.75% superannuation and is a full-time permanent position.
