About Your Opportunity
As the Senior Technical Specialist (Network) is a senior-level technical expert responsible for the design, implementation, optimisation, and oversight of complex enterprise network infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, security, and scalability of the organisation’s data & communications network systems, and provides strategic guidance on emerging
technologies and best practices. The Senior Technical Specialist (Network) also mentors junior network specialists and collaborates cross-functionally to support business objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of network strategies, procedures, policies, and programs critical to Seqwater’s operational and business continuity.
- Provide expert consultancy and high-level advice on network architecture, security, data communications, and performance across the organisation and to external stakeholders.
- Lead the provision of level three technical support for the network and security infrastructure across Seqwater.
- Manage complex network projects and programs, including planning, budget reporting, risk assessment, and evaluation of outcomes.
- Mentor and support technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in network engineering within large and complex environments.
- Demonstrated experience in policy development, strategic planning, and program management, maintenance of standards documentation, supporting networks and security systems, and performance administrative functions.
- Technologies and proven experience in:
-
- Network Administration and Configuration (Cisco CCNP Certification, Cisco Network and Switching, Cisco Wireless, Cisco ISE, Palo Alto)
- Network Load Balancers (Citrix Netscaler)
- A minimum five years’ experience supporting complex computer systems and data communication services.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, SD-WAN, and cloud networking.
You will also be required to support the business by participating in a weekly on-call networks roster.
This is a permanent, full-time role offering a competitive salary package, ideally based at our Ipswich office with hybrid work flexibility.
