About Your Opportunity
Step into a pivotal leadership role where your expertise will shape the delivery of South East Queensland’s most vital water security projects. As Program Manager, you’ll be at the forefront—driving the strategy, coordination, and execution needed to ensure our community’s future water supply is secure and sustainable.
Your focus will be on guiding projects from initial evaluation right through to detailed business cases, ensuring every milestone is met on time, within budget, and at the highest standard. You’ll craft compelling business cases, develop robust management and assurance plans, and steer project schedules, cost estimates, and key decision papers through every stage.
But your impact goes beyond project delivery. You’ll inspire and mentor a talented team of project managers and engineers, nurturing their skills and building the capital delivery capability to meet the evolving needs of our region. Key responsibilities:
- Lead a team of professionals: Oversee and guide a multidisciplinary team, including Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Project Officers, through the development and delivery of a portfolio of projects to ensure the successful completion of preliminary evaluations and detailed business case project deliverables on time, within budget and to a high standard. Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.
- Coordinate teams, resources and processes for a program of significant water infrastructure projects whilst identifying interdependencies and leveraging resources and supplies to maximise efficiencies, cost savings, safety and process improvements.
- Manage the development of strategies to engage external providers, including the construction community, to obtain best value in delivery and ensure safety and contract compliance.
- Provide program management expertise in accordance with Seqwater policies and processes and key areas of project management body of knowledge (PMBOK) or similar.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive pipeline of projects within the Water Security portfolio. Ensure that all projects are aligned with strategic objectives including responsibility for procurement, project controls, governance, risk management and reporting and meet the desired level of service objectives set by the Government.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or similar.
- A minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in project management.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage external contractors.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, particularly with government and regulatory bodies.
- Experience with design, planning, option evaluation, asset management and/or delivery of water infrastructure or similar.
