About Your Opportunity
As the Senior Communication & Engagement Advisor, you will implement and support best-practice community engagement strategies and provide specialist advice and leadership to contribute to Seqwater’s strategic objective of building community trust and social licence. You will lead, coordinate and deliver the strategic engagement approach and strategies related to minor to moderate infrastructure projects, operational changes and initiatives, water security initiatives, dam education and Seqwater’s approach to corporate social responsibility.
You will support the achievement of Seqwater’s strategic objectives, working collaboratively across Seqwater groups, functions, external stakeholders, customers and communities.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice and leadership in creating stakeholder engagement plans and activities that mitigate enterprise risks, support Seqwater’s strategic objectives, and build social licence.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to design, review, and implement communication and engagement strategies ensuring alignment with organisational policies and objectives.
- Lead Seqwater’s approach to corporate and social responsibility, fostering community trust and maintaining social licence through best-practice engagement principles.
- Represent Seqwater at public forums and events and support operational and project teams to engage effectively with communities and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal teams, senior leadership, water service providers, and community organisations to advance organisational objectives.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Media, Journalism, Business Public Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and developing communication and engagement strategies in high-profile environments.
- Demonstrated ability in issues management and building strong community and stakeholder relationships under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing high-quality content for diverse audiences and channels.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external stakeholders while managing competing deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Consultation Manager, with attention to detail and sound judgement.
This role will be offered on a full-time 2 year fixed term contract, with a competitive salary, plus 12.75% superannuation.
