About Your Opportunity
Seqwater is seeking a Dam and Irrigation Operations Assistant in the Northern Region to support our Dam and Irrigation Operations Team. In this hands-on role, you will assist in dam surveillance, inspections, and general operational tasks to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of our dams and water infrastructure as well as providing support for the delivery of water to irrigation customers throughout the Mary Valley. You will work under the guidance of experienced operators, gaining invaluable experience in the water industry while contributing to the day-to-day operations that keep our dams and irrigators running smoothly.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with maintenance and inspection tasks around dams and associated water infrastructure.
- Participate in routine surveillance activities and data collection.
- Operate small plant and equipment such as power tools under supervision.
- Support emergency responses, including during floods.
- Contribute to fishway operations and aquatic species recovery.
- Ensure compliance with Seqwater’s safety, quality, and environmental procedures.
Hours and Locations
This role will be part of team that works on a roster including weekends, public holidays and some on-call work (shift allowances apply). The role will be primarily based at the Pie Creek Depot in the Mary Valley, however some work will be required at other sites.

This position has a salary starting at $68,015.85 plus 12.75% superannuation and is a permanent full time position.
