About your opportunity

As Lead Network Operations, you’ll lead the day-to-day operation of Seqwater’s Network Operations Control Room, coordinating people, systems and operational decisions to manage the bulk water supply network and respond to changing conditions, incidents and priorities. This role is responsible for:

  • Lead the safe, reliable 24/7 operation of Seqwater’s Network Operations Control Room and bulk water network.
  • Provide strong leadership, driving safety, accountability, collaboration and operational excellence.
  • Ensure operational readiness, contingency planning and business continuity across the network.
  • Provide operational advice on water sources, treatment, storage and network capacity.
  • Oversee SCADA, telemetry, alarms and operational systems, ensuring effective monitoring and response.
  • Lead the response to outages, incidents, maintenance and commissioning, managing supply and operational risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement, network resilience and effective operational decision-making.
  • Build a high-performing team through coaching, capability development and clear accountability.
  • Manage operational risks and ensure compliance with safety, water quality, environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong relationships across operations, maintenance, planning, technical teams and key external stakeholders.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Relevant qualifications in engineering or science, or equivalent industry experience in large-scale utility or manufacturing operations.
  • Experience operating SCADA and telemetry systems in large-scale utility or manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a 24/7 control room focused on continuous operations and service delivery.
  • Experience managing operational incidents and emergency response.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, decision-ready insights for engineering and leadership teams.

 

This position has a salary range of $137,128 - $147,926 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is full-time, permanent.
