About Your Opportunity
As part of our Recreation & Catchment Operations team, you’ll take on the vital role of maintaining and enhancing Seqwater’s natural assets. Reporting to the Supervisor, you'll manage a variety of natural resources across our catchments and recreational facilities, ensuring these areas are safe, accessible, and suitable for public use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to wildfire events and contribute to the delivery of the prescribed burns program within the region.
- Collaborate closely with the Fire Management team on planning and implementing fire management and prevention activities.
- Lead a range of operational tasks across the region, from grounds maintenance and landscaping to tree planting and fencing, ensuring our sites are maintained to the highest standards.
- Conduct regular patrols on Seqwater land and water to ensure compliance with Seqwater policies, taking necessary actions when needed.
- Work hand-in-hand with the Senior Ranger to develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly work plans for efficient service delivery.
Hours and Location
This role is part of a dynamic team working on a rotating roster at our Lake Somerset location, which includes weekends, public holidays, and some on-call duties (with applicable shift allowances).
About You
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- An unrestricted valid Driver's License
- A Certificate II in Conservation and Land Management (minimum), or a Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management, Natural Resource Management, Horticulture (or a related field), or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of experience in natural resource management.
- Desirable qualifications: Fire Fighting Level 1 and Chainsaw Level 1 and 2 Certificates.
