About Your Opportunity

As a key player in our team, reporting to the Team Leader of Grid Insights and Resources, you'll take charge of shaping the strategic direction for water resource management across supply, quality, conservation, and regulatory compliance. This is your opportunity to make a real impact by collaborating with government agencies and other stakeholders to implement sustainable practices that will benefit communities and the environment. You’ll lead high-profile projects, conduct insightful analyses, and help shape policies that align with both organisational goals and regulatory standards. 

 

Key responsibilities:

  •  Provide expert advice on water resource planning and its alignment with operational policy.
  • Lead submissions to the water regulator and negotiate water supply schemes to enhance efficiency.
  • Build strong relationships with the water resource regulator to shape practical, achievable legislative requirements.
  • Ensure Seqwater’s water entitlements and authorisations remain current, advocating for conditions that reduce risk and boost operational efficiency.

 

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, environment, legal, or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Previous experience in water resource management
  • Senior advisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience working in water resource planning in Queensland.
  • An unrestricted C Class Driver’s license for vehicles.
  • Alignment with Seqwater values

 

This position has a salary range of $132,491 - $142,924 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.

 

Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically deemed ineligible. Each application will be considered on its merits.
