About Your Opportunity
Are you ready to take on a pivotal role ensuring the safety and resilience of Seqwater’s most critical infrastructure? As a Dam Safety Engineer, you’ll play a key part in safeguarding our dams, protecting communities, and ensuring compliance with legislation. This is your opportunity to bring your expertise to life in a role that combines technical challenge, environmental impact, and community safety.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver expert engineering advice on the structural integrity and safe operation of Seqwater’s dams.
- Shape the future by contributing to Seqwater’s Corporate Strategic Plan through innovative safety solutions.
- Collaborate with the Dam Safety Regulator to ensure compliance with rigorous safety standards.
- Conduct hands-on operational inspections and manage essential safety documentation and systems.
- Collect and analyse critical surveillance data to maintain the highest safety standards across our storages.
Appointment to this role is subject to the provision of a national police check and may be subject to other medical/character requirements. Please note that people with criminal records are not automatically deemed ineligible. Each application will be considered on its merits.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essentials:
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in a related field, with proven expertise.
- Active RPEQ registration (or the ability to obtain it within six months).
Desirables:
- Advanced knowledge of:
- Engineering safety management for dams.
- Dam safety legislation and compliance.
- Flood operations for large-scale infrastructure.
- Experience in dam structural design or flood hydrology is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with instrumentation and software systems critical for water supply and infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in using computerised information technology, software, and telemetry systems.
This position has a salary starting at $128,257 - $140,504 plus 12.75% superannuation dependant on experience.
