About Your Opportunity
Reporting to our Senior Environmental Advisor, you will deliver environmental advice and support within an asset intensive industry. In collaboration with the Environmental Advisor and Senior Environmental Advisor you will partner with your key internal stakeholders to improve Seqwater’s environmental management capabilities. With general knowledge of environmental legislation and approvals frameworks you will interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure Seqwater’s interests and environmental management outcomes are achieved.
Key responsibilities:
- Undertake regional compliance activities and scientific monitoring programs to meet relevant legislation, approvals, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.
- Provide technical advice and problem-solving support into project planning, delivery, operations and maintenance processes.
- In conjunction with the Advisor, undertake investigations for site based operational and project related to environmental incidents.
- Contribute to site-based and project-related environmental audits and risk assessments in accordance with the externally certified environmental management system and ISO14001 international standard including the coordination of external parties and regulator audits.
- Contribute to and/or draft region-specific internal and external environmental reporting and incident management support in accordance with Seqwater’s compliance obligations as required.
- Assist in the identification of environmental challenges and risk, contributing to risk treatments and resolutions.
- Track environmental compliance against approvals, licenses, and other legislated obligations.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essentials
- Tertiary qualifications in, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field.
- C Class Driver’s License.
- Alignment with Seqwater values.
Desirables
- Demonstrated understanding of relevant environmental legislation, policies and procedures and their application to operational and project activities.
- Knowledge of environmental licensing and approval requirements.
- Knowledge of environmental management as it relates to the planning and delivery of project related activities.
- Knowledge of the water industry including water and wastewater treatment processes, dam and land management practices and their related environmental impacts is highly desirable.
This position has a salary range of $87,431.08 - $107,844.10 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
