About your opportunity

We are seeking a Supervisor Dam Operation – Irrigation Services to join our Operations Group. In this pivotal role, you will lead staff to deliver the day to day operations, surveillance, and inspections, of dam related infrastructure to ensure their safe and efficient operation in line with all regulatory requirements. You will lead the Dam Operations Team to deliver tasks related to the release and distribution of water from these assets, including the operation and monitoring of infrastructure during flood and other emergencies.

This role is responsible for:

• Lead the Dam Operations Team to deliver day to day water distribution, release and water treatment activities to ensure fit for purpose and comply with all applicable regulatory requirements.
• Ensure the delivery of surveillance and inspections of dam related infrastructure to ensure their safe and efficient operation and to meet regulatory requirements.
• Develop daily, weekly and monthly work plans to ensure the most effective use o resources and the completion of work in accordance with relevant standard operating procedures.
• Lead the rostering, operation, and monitoring of dams and other infrastructure during floods and other emergencies.
• Lead the delivery of preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance and renewals work to the required standards, leading communication with Seqwater maintenance teams to achieve best outcomes for operations.
• Lead the operation of dam related infrastructure such as hydro generation equipment, water treatment systems, and pump stations.
• Ensure the collection, storage, verification and reporting of operational data in line with all regulatory and internal reporting requirements.
• Develop operational reports on dam performance and manage financial procedures, purchases, and monitoring of budget requirements.
• Lead liaison with internal teams in the implementation of Seqwater’s asset refurbishment and renewals program as required
• Provide effective leadership, training, development, and management of the DamOperations Team
• Observe and comply with all Seqwater work health and safety, quality and environmental management systems and procedures.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Possess an Unrestricted C Class Driver’s Licence for manual vehicle
• Relevant trade certificate or Water Industry Operations Certificate IV
• Certificate in Confined Space Entry Systems (Desirable)  
• Senior First Aid Certificate (Desirable)

This position has a salary range of $121,579.31 - $129,579.60 (Dependant on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is full-time, permanent.
