About Your Opportunity
As the Procurement Advisor, you will work with Seqwater internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to provide support, guidance and expert advice with a view to developing procurement strategies and plans to achieve organisational savings, manage risk and/or introduce improved performance and innovation. This will be achieved by having a thorough knowledge of supply chain, sourcing activities, category management, commercial relationships, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, contract and supplier management, and decision support models.
The role will be supporting the Corporate Services Group which is a consolidated group of core business support functions, including Quality, Risk, Compliance, Environmental, People and Culture, Finance, Legal, Commercial, Property, Fleet and Facilities Services, providing business support for the Seqwater enterprise.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the design, development, and implementation of the overall category strategy that delivers outcomes premised around safety, value for money (price and quality), governance frameworks, relationships, timeliness, innovation and continuous improvement and reporting.
- Assist with the tracking and reporting of savings, procure-to-pay process improvement, monitoring of spend areas and provide insights to the category teams on spend risks/ exposures and identification of opportunities.
- Analyse and evaluate the market and competitive conditions and provide advice to the category management team.
- Assist with the monitoring and management of supplier performance across various Category areas.
- Assist with the development and implementation of effective sourcing strategies to ensure quality of services that add value to Seqwater.
- Support the negotiation process and the development and implementation of evaluation plans so that outcomes are aligned to business needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of contract management plans, including developing supply relationships and contribute to the development and management of supplier scorecards that identify performance to KPIs.
Job capability requirements
- Knowledge of practices and procedures relation to purchasing and tendering guidelines.
- Knowledge of legislation, contract law, common law principles and ethical procedures relating to tenders and administering contracts.
- Ability to interpret and apply policy and procedure relating to sourcing.
- Ability to assist with the development and implementation of category management strategies, applying policy, running inquiries, benchmarking, and drafting commercial agreements.
- Ability to forecast and report on savings
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Minimum five years’ experience in commercial agreements, including sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong knowledge of legislation, contract law, and ethical procedures related to tendering and contract administration.
- Proven ability to develop and implement category management strategies, conduct negotiations, and deliver measurable savings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and build rapport with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in process improvement initiatives.
- Relevant qualifications in Commerce, Engineering, Procurement, or Supply Chain, along with professional memberships or certifications.
This position will be offered as a 2-year fixed term contract opportunity with a salary range of $108,332.25 - $119,130.76 plus 12.75% superannuation.
