About Your Opportunity
As the Health & Safety – Risk and Systems Specialist, you’ll manage and monitor Seqwater’s health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) risk management systems and controls at an enterprise level to improve control effectiveness and reduce HSW risk exposure. The role will include developing capability-building programs for system and risk process application, managing and maturing the Fatality Risk Management Program, leading risk assessments and assurance activities, analysing HSW control effectiveness to identify improvement areas, and leading the development and implementation of targeted improvement programs.
Key responsibilities:
- Facilitate risk assessments to identify required controls, assess control effectiveness, and pinpoint areas for improvement.
- Monitor and enhance Seqwater’s Fatality Risk Management Program, focusing on Critical Control effectiveness and program maturity.
- Develop and implement procedures and tools that align with business needs and comply with legislation and codes of practice.
- Conduct inspections, assurance activities, and performance analysis of HSW systems and risk management to identify improvement opportunities.
- Lead initiatives and projects that drive continuous improvement in health, safety, wellbeing systems, and risk management.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Significant experience in a similar WHS role and industry, with a strong track record in health and safety, risk management and systems improvement.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and lead across all levels.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and Australian Standards.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting enterprise-wide WHS risk assessments and successfully delivering projects with measurable outcomes.
- Experience developing and implementing health, safety and wellbeing procedures that meet business needs and compliance requirements.
- Ability to think critically and analytically, with a track record of using WHS data to inform performance trends and improvement opportunities.
Formal qualifications in Work, Health and Safety or a related field are desirable but not essential.
This role will be offered on a permanent full-time basis, with a competitive salary, plus 12.75% superannuation.
