About Your Opportunity
Reporting to our Lead Networks & Planning, you will provide engineering advice and direction for managing both existing and future assets, ensuring water supply strategies and regulatory obligations are met at the lowest whole-of-life cycle cost. It involves using a risk-based approach to assess asset capability, conducting detailed engineering evaluations, developing efficient asset management plans, and analysing options to address identified risks for optimal asset performance and compliance.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver engineering expertise and analytical support to optimise the management of network assets, ensuring sustainable water supply strategies and regulatory compliance while minimising lifecycle costs. Develop and improve risk-based maintenance strategies, asset management plans, and asset renewal programmes.
-  Perform comprehensive engineering assessments to evaluate asset capability and condition, coordinate technical investigations, and identify required enhancements through detailed options analysis and business case development. Support operational delivery, programme planning, budgeting, and compliance with Seqwater’s safety, quality, and environmental standards.
 
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent), and eligibility for RPEQ or Chartered Engineer registration.
- Strong knowledge of Seqwater policies, operations, and relevant State Government legislation, or the ability to quickly acquire this knowledge.
- Extensive experience managing and evaluating built infrastructure, especially water assets, including assessing asset performance and developing project scopes to address deficiencies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for producing technical reports and collaborating effectively with clients, consultation groups, and staff.
 
This position has a salary range of $132,746 – $145,422 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation, and is a 2 year fixed term contract
