About Your Opportunity
In this newly created role of Rostering Specialist, you will deliver and maintain a centralised rostering function to ensure timely and appropriate workforce coverage. Working closely with leaders, you will ensure rosters comply with industrial instruments, policies and procedures, monitoring absences and supply and demand. You will proactively engage with leaders to identify operational efficiencies and to respond to changing business needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Coach and support leaders in the review and optimisation of roster patterns and resourcing requirements, to develop effective and efficient rosters.
- Develop, publish and maintain rosters and schedules aligned with operational needs, coordinating shift changes, leave requests and unplanned absences, whilst ensuring compliance with industrial instruments.
- Monitor compliance, identifying, mitigating or escalating staffing shortfalls, risks and gaps in required skills or competencies.
- Produce timely, accurate reporting and analytics on roster coverage, overtime, workforce utilisation, supply and demand forecasting, costings, trends and capability gaps to support informed decision‑making.
- Collaborate with leaders and the People & Culture Transformation and Strategic Workforce Planning team on workforce planning initiatives, projects and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Support event‑driven resourcing demands (e.g., weather events), while meeting Seqwater’s WHS, quality, environmental and conduct requirements.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in workforce rostering, scheduling or similar operational workforce coordination.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply enterprise agreements, industrial instruments and workplace policies in day‑to‑day decision‑making.
- Proven capability to engage, consult, influence and advise a wide range of internal stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and sound problem‑solving ability.
- Effective time‑management with the ability to assess situations, make informed decisions and deliver timely outcomes.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in rostering or workforce management software, ideally gained within a large or complex organisation.

This role is offered as a permanent full-time position with a salary ranging from $108,332.25 - $119,130.76 plus 12.75% superannuation (dependent on experience).
