About your opportunity  

As a Senior Reliability Engineer - Electrical, you will apply your deep technical knowledge and expertise to develop and implement strategies and plans to manage the reliability of Seqwater’s operational assets. Working closely with asset engineers and maintenance teams, you will contribute to asset failure investigations, reliability analysis, and asset condition assessments. You will support the ongoing development and maturity of Seqwater’s reliability practices , so they are incorporated into future operational and maintenance asset lifecycle decisions.  

You will apply established reliability investigation methodologies and contribute to continuous improvement. to enhance the asset management lifecycle and assist Seqwater in achieving alignment to ISO55001.  

This role is responsible for: 

  • Be a major contributor to the development of a multiyear strategy and implementation roadmap to introduce proactive and predicative reliability maintenance practices. 
  • Apply a high level of expertise to complete the review of equipment failure data and provide recommendations to improve asset reliability across the organisation. 
  • Develop and effectively utilise strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders, to coordinate improvements and develop a schedule which enhances performance and the reliability of Seqwater’s  assets. 
  • Perform the role of Lead Investigator for major asset failures, this includes utilising the 5 whys, RCA and ICAM methodologies. Provide and coordinate the implementation of recommendations from the investigation. 
  • Initiate RCAs and other analytical techniques to interrogate data and drive improvement of asset performance and reporting. 
  • Design, conduct and manage  detailed discipline specific asset condition inspections.  
  • Lead the project to identify problem assets (Bad Actors) across the organisation and develop recommended actions. Manage the development of an education awareness program to ensure sites implement any changes from the review and standardise practices across the business.   
  • Provide professional engineering reviews of maintenance activities for Seqwater Maintenance Team as requested. 
  • Observe and comply with all Seqwater work health and safety, quality and environmental management systems and procedures.  
  • Undertake other duties, which are assigned from time to time by the Leader.

About you 

To be successful in this role, you will possess: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or related field with significant asset management experience. 
  • Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). 
  • Demonstrated extensive experience in asset engineering, including maintenance optimisation, reliability improvement, and lifecycle management of Electrical specific infrastructure
  • Extensive knowledge of Electrical design and operational principles for dams, pipelines, water retaining structures, and related assets, ideally in the water or heavy industrial sector. 
  • C class driver’s licence. 
  • Asset Reliability Practitioner certification (desirable). 
  • Knowledge of change management and project management methodologies (desirable). 
  • Strong ability to collaborate, negotiate, and influence across diverse stakeholders. 
  • Proven capability to work effectively in dynamic environments, both autonomously and within a team. 
  • Demonstrated skill in identifying emerging risks and ensuring timely, effective responses. 

 

This position has a competitive salary range, plus 12.75% superannuation and is full-time, permanent.
