About Your Opportunity
As the Water Security Planning Officer, you will lead technical water security analysis and reporting work; and strategic development of principles and rationale, regulation, research and external relationships including for total water cycle management. You will lead research for water security and provide project management services for the water security program and other water security activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead strategic water security planning through stakeholder collaboration, focusing on total water cycle management, innovation, and sustainable supply and demand solutions.
- Provide strategic, regulatory and legislative advice, ensuring alignment with standards and leading change where required.
- Deliver and manage the Water Security Program, including projects, research, reporting, and development of technical advice and briefings.
- Build strategic partnerships and sector leadership, representing Seqwater and analysing water security trends to inform strategic responses.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or Science, with at least 5 years’ experience in water security planning and/or total water cycle management.
- Strong knowledge of water industry frameworks, legislation and regulatory environments, with demonstrated experience in regulatory planning and compliance.
- Proven experience managing research and programs of work, including coordinating complex projects, monitoring performance, and delivering outcomes on time and within budget.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex water cycle interactions, including infrastructure, supply systems, and economic considerations, and translate these into practical advice.
- High‑level written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing technical reports, briefing papers, submissions, and presentations for diverse stakeholders.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, including leading workshops and building effective working relationships across government, industry, and professional groups.
This role will be offered on a permanent full-time basis, with a competitive salary, plus 12.75% superannuation.
