About Your Opportunity

 

The Superintendent is responsible for the effective administration and delivery of major capital water infrastructure construction contracts, including new water pipeline projects valued at more than $50M. Appointed in writing by the Principal, the Superintendent exercises full delegated authority to manage the contract in accordance with contractual requirements, relevant legislation, organisational standards, and industry best practice.



Key responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the administration of major construction contracts ($100M+) to support successful delivery of Seqwater’s asset improvement projects.
  • Act as Superintendent and Principal’s agent, issuing directions, managing variations, and ensuring full compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Perform independent certification of time, cost, quality and completion, providing fair, impartial and transparent assessments.
  • Oversee project progress, contractor performance and contract time provisions, including extensions of time and practical completion.
  • Provide expert technical and commercial advice across the project lifecycle, including dispute resolution, claims management and contract negotiation.
  • Lead, coach and mentor Superintendent’s Representatives and project staff to build capability in contract administration and project delivery.

 

 

 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

 

  • The Superintendent is required to be licenced and hold a current licence, under the Queensland Building Services Authority Act 1991 (Qld) to carry out building work services under a building contract. To perform Seqwater “client-side” project management, the Builder-Project Management Services license is required.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Engineering.
  • Significant demonstrated experience and achievement as a Superintendent for complex, multi-disciplinary engineering and construction project works and programs.
  • Expert level knowledge and application of AS4000 and AS4900 and General Conditions of Contract as applied to design and construction contract management, QA, Environment and WHS management.
  • Demonstrated achievement in engaging and influencing multi-disciplinary teams including external contractors and consultants, to achieve contract objectives within complex technical environments.
  • Highly developed written communication and computer literacy skills to compile professional technical and quality documentation and management reports.
  • Proven leadership qualities and ability to coach and mentor colleagues and staff.
  •  Class C Driver’s License.

 

 

 

This position will be offered as an individual TFR contract with an attractive salary.
