About Your Opportunity
As the Community Engagement Advisor - Projects, you will assist with implementing communication and engagement activities relating to the delivery of Seqwater’s strategic objectives and capital delivery program. You will coordinate and support the delivery of the strategic engagement approach and communication strategies related to complex water infrastructure project/s. Collaborating across Seqwater teams, as well as project managers, technical experts and senior management you will provide high-level support and advice relating to building stakeholder, customer and community awareness, knowledge, trust and advocacy of the organisation’s strategic objectives and major projects.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the development and delivery of communication and engagement strategies for major infrastructure projects.
- Develop a range of communication materials, including stakeholder notifications, newsletters, media content, web and internal communications.
- Manage stakeholder and community engagement, identifying risks and opportunities and ensuring a coordinated, consultative approach.
- Coordinate and respond to customer and community enquiries, ensuring timely, accurate and consistent communication.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders and agencies, including local and state government representatives.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and collaborate effectively across teams in fast‑paced environments.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex, technical project information and translate it into clear, audience‑appropriate communication.
- High‑level knowledge of community engagement and issues management practices, including awareness of political, social and legislative contexts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high‑quality, accurate and customer‑focused communication materials.
- Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills, with high emotional intelligence and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in community engagement, public relations or a related field (IAP2 certification and design/consultation systems experience desirable).
This role will be offered on a full-time 2-year fixed term contract, with a salary ranging from $108,322 - $119,130 per annum plus 12.75% superannuation.
