About your opportunity

As a specialist within our Dam Safety Strategy & Risk team, you will provide expert engineering advice across dam safety risk assessment, ALARP processes, and upgrade programs.

You’ll work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure dam upgrade design, construction, and operational outcomes appropriately manage and mitigate risk.

This role is responsible for:

  • Provide specialist engineering advice on dam safety risk management, including ALARP assessments, ensuring outcomes are robust, evidence-based and practical
  • Support and influence dam upgrade programs by advising on design, construction and operational risk to ensure safe and fit-for-purpose outcomes
  • Review and challenge internal and external engineering assessments and solutions to drive high-quality, compliant dam safety outcomes
  • Guide prioritisation of dam safety risks and mitigation activities across operations, maintenance and capital works
  • Collaborate across Operations and Infrastructure Planning & Capital Delivery teams to integrate dam safety requirements into planning and delivery
  • Contribute to flood operations and dam safety incident response, including participation in on-call rosters
  • Maintain and support continuous improvement of dam safety management systems, governance frameworks and risk processes
  • Mentor and support the development of engineers, sharing technical expertise and promoting best practice

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering with significant relevant experience
  • Current RPEQ registration (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in dam safety management and risk assessment (highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of dam safety legislation and guidelines, e.g. ANCOLD (highly regarded)
  • Experience in dam design, upgrades, or flood operations (highly regarded)

 

 

This position has a salary range of $149,648 - $162,324 (dependant on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation and is full-time, permanent.
