About Your Opportunity

As the Outage Management Officer, you will contribute to the outage management of Seqwater’s operational treated water assets, developing the production of detailed isolation plans, including the production of isolation plans for complex and high risk works to minimise network and customer disruption to ensure a positive customer experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate permits and isolation activities for maintenance and project works, including prioritisation, scheduling, risk management and communication.
  • Develop detailed network isolation plans that minimise operational, customer and network impacts while supporting planned interventions.
  • Engage and manage stakeholders to secure timely permit approvals and coordinate complex works, projects and asset commissioning activities.
  • Identify and mitigate operational and water quality risks, ensuring isolation plans comply with safe drinking water requirements and include appropriate contingencies.
  • Manage customer impacts and outage communications, ensuring notification requirements are met and working with customer service and media teams where required. 

About you

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Relevant qualifications and/or significant experience in water grid operations or a related field.
  • Experience in network planning and analysis, including developing complex isolation plans within a water utility environment.
  • Strong understanding of water supply infrastructure, including construction, operations and maintenance practices.
  • Proven ability to assess and mitigate operational risks by analysing and interpreting network scenarios using operational systems.
  • Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment, with the ability to support incident management and participate in an on-call roster.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and analytical skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence and work independently.

This position will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with a salary range from $108,332.25 - $119,130.76 (dependant on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
