About Your Opportunity
As the Senior Supply Modelling Strategist, you will play a key role in shaping Seqwater’s long-term water security future. Leading the strategic direction of water supply modelling, you will establish frameworks and standards, influence major planning and investment decisions, and provide expert advice to senior leaders and government stakeholders. Through robust analysis and evidence-based insights, you will help ensure critical decisions are informed, credible and future-focused.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as Seqwater’s principal technical authority for water supply modelling, setting enterprise-wide modelling strategy, standards and frameworks.
- Provide expert advice to executives, government and key stakeholders on water security risks, system performance and infrastructure investment decisions.
- Lead modelling governance and assurance, including model validation, change control and quality standards to support critical decision-making.
- Drive the evolution of modelling approaches and scenario planning, ensuring Seqwater remains prepared for future challenges such as climate variability and demand uncertainty.
- Represent Seqwater as a senior technical expert across government, regulatory and industry forums, influencing water security policy, planning approaches and modelling standards.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Tertiary qualification in Science, Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.
- Extensive experience in stochastic and/or hydro-economic modelling within complex infrastructure, water, or resource systems.
- Proven track record leading complex modelling programs that inform major infrastructure, policy, or investment decisions.
- Experience providing strategic advice to executives, government and senior stakeholders on high-impact issues.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, practical insights.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability, building relationships across government, industry and internal teams to drive outcomes.
This role will be offered on a full-time permanent basis, with a competitive salary, plus 12.75% superannuation.
