About Your Opportunity
As the Process Hazard Analysis Specialist, you will support Seqwater to establish, implement, and continuously improve processes for managing process hazards across Seqwater's critical infrastructure. This is a hands-on role that requires technical capability in identifying, analysing, and assessing operations with hazardous process energy and support the ongoing management of critical controls through systems and standards.
Through this work, you will contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives for safety, water quality, environmental performance and water supply reliability. A key measure of success in this role is the ability to support Seqwater to apply sound and proportionate hazard analysis techniques and take a risk-based approach to managing process hazards.
Key responsibilities:
- Support and facilitate hazard analysis activities to high-risk operations and coordinate projects that support ongoing improvements
- Monitor and analyse information and data to identify emerging trends in risk and strengthen technical integrity and engineering management of change
- Provide stewardship and progress reporting on action close out associated with hazard analysis studies
- Maintain and support the management of critical process safety information, including performance standards, Bowtie, safety-critical equipment registers and related documentation
- Partner with operations, engineering, and safety teams to support embedding process safety management into operational processes, systems, standards, and ways of working

About you
To be successful in this role you will bring with you;
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Science in a relevant technical field
- Demonstrated experience working with hazard evaluation techniques and capability interpreting P&IDs, control narratives, and operational procedures
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams to achieve practical outcomes
- Chartership and registration with a professional body, e.g. Engineers Australia with eligibility for RPEQ (highly regarded)
- Operational experience in utilities or process industries with experience implementing Bowtie to existing operations (highly regarded)
This position has a competitive salary range, plus 12.75% superannuation and is full-time, permanent.
