Program Manager (WSIP)  

 

Drive major water security projects from concept to business case, enabling long-term water supply for South East Queensland.

About the role 

As Program Manager, you will lead the planning and development of critical water security projects that help secure South East Queensland’s future water supply. Working across a portfolio of strategic initiatives, you will oversee project evaluation, business case development and investment planning, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high standard. 

You will provide leadership to a team of project managers and engineers, building capability and fostering a culture of safety, innovation and continuous improvement. This is an opportunity to influence major infrastructure decisions, drive successful project outcomes and help shape the long-term resilience of the region’s water network. 

 

What you'll bring 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management or similar. 

  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years’ experience in project management, with program management experience preferred. 

  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage external contractors.  

  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, particularly with government and regulatory bodies.  

  • Experience with design, planning, option evaluation, asset management and/or delivery of water infrastructure or similar.  

  • Superior program and project management skills 

  • High level analytical skills and problem-solving skills 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to prepare succinct reports. 

  • Excellent attention to detail.  

  • Ability to understand complex systems. 

  • Ability to be agile and to respond to changing circumstances.  

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver on time and to budget. 

  • Ability to work constructively with internal and external stakeholders and team members to achieve effective outcomes.
