About Your Opportunity
Reporting to our Principal HSW Infrastructure, you will play a crucial role in supporting Seqwater Capital Delivery and DTI Project Teams to safely plan and execute capital projects. You will partner with key project stakeholders, leaders, and their teams across Seqwater, to develop a consistent and positive organisational HSW culture and support the implementation of Seqwater strategic initiatives. As a member of the HSW team, you will champion continuous improvement, innovation, and technology. Aligning with the broader HSW team, you will help ensure a consistent approach to supporting key stakeholders
in: improving safety and organizational culture, influencing processes, systems, and planning, effectively managing HSW risks associated with the Infrastructure Program, addressing a wide range of complex current and future HSW priorities and challenges, and preparing and delivering relevant HSW training through face-to-face sessions, team meetings, and other communication methods.
Key responsibilities:
- Partner, coach, and influence key stakeholders to identify requirements and effectively implement and maintain Seqwater’s safety management system ensuring consistency with Seqwater’s HSW risk profile.
- Develop, implement, and review Work Health and Safety policies, procedures, management plans, guidelines, standard operating procedures, and safe work method statements across all areas, including Health and Wellbeing.
- Act as the first point of contact to provide advice and safety information, and to support managers to actively promote a safe workplace culture and address specific issues.
- Assist in the development and lead the implementation of HSW and Enterprise programs, activities and provide support at either the group or team level, to achieve a result aligned with the HSW Strategy.
- Influence and lead proactive HSW risk management by providing HSW expertise, knowledge and learning from internal communications such as safety alerts, newsletters and lessons learnt.
- Coach Operational Lead Investigators in incident investigations and make recommendations in relation to corrective and preventative action that will mitigate future events.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Essentials
- Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Unrestricted driver’s license
- Experience in similar roles in the construction industry and working with contractors
- Experience in conducting incident investigations and identification of corrective and preventative actions
- Experience in facilitation and conducting risk assessments
Desirables
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment
- Formal training in Incident Investigation (e.g., ICAM, TapRoot or similar)
- Lead Auditor qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
- Safety in Design experience
- Experience in HAZOP/CHAZOP
- Experience using Power BI
This position has a salary range of $118,579.95 - $129,013.30 (dependent on experience) plus 12.75% superannuation.
